Hi, arriving late, but wanted to check if this is still being discussed.

My two cents on this, for normal use, the debian wiki is fine as it is. 
It's perfectly searchable (I think) and the content is great and 
relevant to debian. Although like any wiki, it could use more regular 
updates on some advanced topics.

I doubt the detailed user-manual style of ArchWiki is going to fit on 
debian's wiki, as the manuals are normally published elsewhere and 
debian has a lot more content about its own tooling/architecture/etc.

But it would be nice to see all manuals for debian docs available 
publicly, like what you get with "/var/lib/dochelp/documents.html".
(but that's not wiki related)


When I tried to edit a page, that's a different story.
- The signup process through email is a big bottleneck. No single-sign 
on is not a big deal, but it's one way to fight spam without manually 
admitting people (or just a captcha).
- Table syntax and styling are tedious to say the least. Compare that to 
mediawiki where it's more line-by-line and a little more readable on a 
webpage
- Another tiny preference is dark mode. Some days, you just can't stare 
at a bright white wiki page for too long.


Anyway, I was curious if wiki admins considered mediawiki (or any other 
wiki) and if there is a need for any help there? I never managed a live 
mediawiki, but plenty of CMS (wordpress and friends).


Disclaimer, I haven't yet made a single edit on the wiki even though it 
keeps going into edit mode when I double click to select :)
