I have a very special desire:=C2=A0 to create an easy way for=C2=A0 Netgear=
 ReadyNAS users to install Debian (and from there, OMV) in place of the agi=
ng native OS on units with no easy to use display (they have only a serial =
console that does not use a standard connection on most units).=C2=A0 I wan=
t this to work on any 64-bit Intel-based unit.=C2=A0 FAI seems to be the wa=
y to go.=C2=A0 The big problem with the ReadyNAS line is that you cannot ch=
ange the boot order permanently on most models -- it will always revert to =
booting from the very small 256MB internal flash (which looks like a USB dr=
ive to the BIOS) and is too small to hold /boot.=C2=A0 I also want to insta=
ll OMV without a dedicated system drive (thus installing Debian first).=C2=
=A0 and emulate much of the way the current OS uses the drives.
=C2=A0The unit can be forced to boot from USB, but that requires a key-pres=
s every time, which is undesirable.=C2=A0=C2=A0So here is what i have come =
up with for disk_config to put GRUB only on the flash memory, with /boot, /=
 (root), swap, and the main data store in separate MDADM RAIDs with EXT for=
 /boot and=C2=A0 / but BTRFS for the main data.=C2=A0 I'm starting with two=
 physical drives plus the flash, and the flash always shows up as the last =
