ERROR EXTRANIO: "gethostbyname".

   Quería consultarles sobre un problema extraño
(por lo menos pa´ mí) que me acaba de suceder...

   Tengo Debian Potato Kernel 2.2.17.

   Estaba tratando de compilar un fuente C, con el:
cc, gcc, g++ (o cualquier compilador parecido),
y al tipear en consola:

        # cc Programa.c -o Programa

obtengo la respuesta:

        cc: invalid option --o
        Usage: cc [-u login-name] [-t days]

   Entonces pruebo:

        # man cc

y el SO me dice algo como:

        gethostbyname: Host name lookup failure
        man: command exited with status 256: /bin/gzip -dc
        ´/var/cache/man/cat1/ls.1.gz´ | {export MAN_PN LESS;

Pruebo hacer sólo:

       # cc

y me sale una lista (¿?):

lista que, está claro, nadie pidió.

   Todo ésto ocurrió luego de estar tratando de comunicarme
por puerto paralelo con la PC, a través de un programa en C
(el que estaba compilando). Tengo un dispositivo experimental
que envía voltajes de entre 0 y 5 volts a los pines machos
de una ficha DB-25 (25 pines), y la idea es que el SO tome estas
señales como datos de entrada, y lo haga a través de los buses
de Datos/Estado/Control de este puerto.
El puerto es un añadido (/dev/lp1 con dirección BASE: 0x278),
es decir, una plaquetita "Paralelo Simple" ISA 8-B
colocada en los slots ISA de la máquina.
La máquina NO está conectada a red.
