Ok, we're not talking about the same thing, but both I guess are not what we're experiencing at the moment. The thing you describe happens when calling kprinter /tmp/some-email.msg. The error dialog you see appears because kprinter sees that it is not a plain/text file but something special. It does not find a default filter and therefore asks. But KMail (and Konqueror) IMHO don't give plain files to kprinter but some formatted output, I think postscript. Otherwise your KMail printed emails wouldn't have those extra fields showing sender and recipient. > Maybe you want to file a bug report at kde. I don't have the time > today. As I described above, the message you see is a special case of calling kprinter and therefore not a bug. I think that there would be a major bug like broken printing in allover KDE 3.2 RC1 it wouldn't be an "RC" and there would be a number of bugreports, already.
