Operating Knoppix

    I made the first try with Knoppix using the November 2003 edition and I was surprised by the excellent work done by rhe K Knopper team. 
    It's the first time that an operating sysrem , other than Windows, can use an Internet connection via a  USB modem (Motorola SB4100) without any preliminary preparation (e.g. I could not obtain the same result with my QNX operating system).
    Booting from the CD is also without problems. 
    I tryed in the past to install a Red Hat system and experienced strange hard disk noises. I suppose that having an WIN-XP NTFS fyle system as long as you have not some partition in FAT32 the hard disk is reluctant.
    I have to point out that the Knoppix CD for the first seconds makes a slight noise and 2 times the message
    pdcraid error reading superblock appears 
     but immediately the knoppix welcome message appears and all becomes ok
    I downloaded also the german February 2004 edition of Knoppix and at the beginning of the boot the same error message is followed by a normal booting.
    This time a supplementary message appears
    Trying to mount /dev/fd0 with AES256 encryption "kein passendes Gerät bzw. kein passende Adresse gefunden"
    Receiving now the Debian-Knoppix chat I should like to point out that every writer has to realize that he is addressing himself to a multitude of individuals and shoud try to outline first a short general presentation of his problem. If you donot your text is to be considered as an encrypted one aimed to be understood only by the recipient.
