as for the 
i810_audio             25064   1
ac97_codec             11884   0  [i810_audio]

i tend to use modconf for checking/loading modules.
under sound drivers it shows:

 i810_audio    + Intel ICH (i8xx) audio support

the + shows that it is loaded

my SIS support i currently have compiled in(no module), but have run it as a 
module in the past so it does work that way.
