usb2 boot option

There is any kernel 2.4 boot option to load usb2 module? I need it 
loaded before home is mounted.
My problem is that I have home (loop device) on a usb2 drive, but it is 
only mounted using usb1. When I do "/sbin/insmod ehci-hcd" to use it 
with usb2, a lot of times, when i reboot, i get home disc corrupt 
(although it is an xfs file system), and i lost things.
