your harddrive is too small. You need 2200 MB+ Swap:-((

An alternative might be a smaller KNOPPIX derivate, like DSL, Flonix,
Morphix, maybe even the old c't version from last year will work, but
the knx-hdinst script has to be modified, to make it work.

DO NOT use KDE on this computer! You will be faster painting your
windows with a pencil. I am using a Pentium 133 MHz, with 128MB RAM and
icewm as windowmanager. (knoppix desktop=icewm). The lack of memory will
be a big performanc issue in your case.

I would probably use DSL (Damns Small Linux) on this computer.
