Then it should also be possible to boot Knoppix from a iso9660 file on a vfat partition using the loop module, right?

I have tried that before but did't succeed in changing the initrd - who can help?

It would be great to have a cheatcode "fromiso=/dev/hda3/KNOPPIX3.3_V12.12.2012", that way one could boot multiple ISOs sitting on HD...
