segmention fault detecting SCSI and I HAVE SCSI

I just tried Knoppix 3.4 using knoppix26 and got a segmention fault when 
probing scsi.  I DO HAVE a real SCSI CDRW that uses advansys.o.

It works fine booting the default 2.4 kernel.
