request: syquest sparq install question.

hi,

given:
i'm trying to access a syquest sparq device off the parallel port, it works with windows 2000, same machine.

goal:
1. while in linux use the sparq to save my files, so that windows will be able to read those files from the sparq device.
2. when booting the knoppix cd, have the sparq 'mount' also.
3. when booting the knoppix cd, read the knoppix configuration file on the sparq so that knoppix boots up in a familiar configuration.


problem:
using the knoppix-3.4/kernel-2.4 cd i do the following:

insmod parport
insmod paride
insmod epat
insmod pd, and i've tried "insmod pd drive0=0x378,1"

<at this point, the sparq makes some head positioning sounds>

there is no 'pd' anything in the '/dev' directory.

what is the next step so that the knoppix can 'see' the sparq?
