In the past with Knoppix 3.3 I always used knx-hdinstall.

Now I installed 3.4 2004-05-17-DE with knoppix-installer.

1) What is now the best way, which install-script to use, if I want just
a conventional HD installation?

2) What is difference between the 3 installation modes? I id not choose
"debian", because I was afraid, to get the bad usability of
debian-installation. But I want to have the resulting installation as
near as possible to debian.

3) When I open a console-window under KDE, then

     ~$ su
     # nedit /etc/something

then I get

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
     Xlib: no protocol specified
     Nedit: Can't open display

Same is true, if I call other programs, which open a X-window - like
xclock e.g. What's wrong? Same works very well with Knoppix-3.3 from
plain installation.

4) I cannot ssh into the 3.4 installation. O.k., the difference to my
other installations is, that I configured it DHCP, but I prefer fixed IP
normally. I will have no problems to configure ssh by hand like in the
old days, but with Knoppix 3.3 it worked out of the box.

TIA
