Knoppix 3.4 English-German bug

There is a bug in the Enlish version of 3.4 Knoppix.

The file menu part of open office, when you select New it offers text 
document, spreadsheet ... etc in German only.   All other parts of the 
program and menus are English.

When I installed it on the HD as Debian linux this same behaviour of 
open office remains.   I have gotten used to it.   To some it would be 
annoying but for me it was fun to learn a little non-english knowledge.
