OK, an updated kernel was just uploaded today which contains the fix:

Now we just have to wait until the alpha build server has picked up the package which
can take some time as we don't have a lot of build capacity for alpha at the moment.

FWIW, if you know anyone with a fast alpha server who would be willing to help, let
me know.
