Falun Dafa and the Persecution in China

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient Chinese sacred practice in the Buddhist tradition and consists of upright teachings  a sitting meditation, and four gentle  exercises that are a truly distinctive and highly functional way to enhance your well being and vitality levels. At the heart of Falun Gong are the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance (or in Chinese, Zhen 真 Shan 善 Ren 忍). Falun Dafa teaches  that these are the essential nature  of the universe and takes them to be a blueprint for everyday life and application. 
In 1998, to determine  the health benefits of Falun Gong, a survey was conducted  among Falun Gong practitioners in five districts in Beijing, with 12,731 valid  questionnaires. The results show that Falun Gong’s healing  rate from disease  is 99.1% with a relief rate of 58.5%; Improvement  rate is 80.3% in physical wellbeing and 96.5% in mental health . The survey  signifies that Falun Gong has a significant  effect in disease healing and wellbeing elevation. Falun Gong is an excellent  Qi-gong practice that benefits  people both physically and mentally.
The health and wellness benefits of Falun Gong have been experienced by people throughout the world, while the practice continues to develop in 114 countries. It has been welcomed by governments. But yet, in the country of its origin  where it was introduced  to the public in 1992, it has beenill-treated .
In July 1999, Falun Gong became state opponent number one in China. A insecure dictator's fear of Falun Gong's exponential growth resulted in acute jealousy of Falun Gong’s popularity . Since the beginning of the suppression, many practitioners have been sentenced  to ‘reform through labour’ camps, where they are starved , beaten, and tortured  with electric batons. By 2008, there were over 3,000 documented  cases of practitioners who were killed  as a result of the state-run persecution . Increasingly, solid evidence  suggests  many more, at least 60,000 until several years ago, have been targetedas unwilling  donors of kidneys, livers, and hearts. 
To comprehend the gravity  of this situation, let me give a small analogy : Imagine  you practiced yoga in India and one fine day you were kidnapped  and put into jail for practicing it. Then you were persecuted  and pushed to stop practicing. Then, when you refused  to stop since it has given you only good things, you were put through more torture and denied meeting with your family members, who did not know where you were. No court would take your case. You were put through physical and mental harassment and then subjected to the worst crime of all: Your organs, having been tissue typed, were forcibly removed from your body, to be sold at a premium  price to affluent  Chinese or foreign patients. You die from this process. And this was all done by the government of your own country. This is unfortunately happening in China right now to Falun Gong practitioners, whose only crime is an adherence to the principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance.
