I combined my answer for both emails below:


Installation Process-------------------------------------

Installation through serial console (graphics console with direct attached monitor/keyboard doesnt work)

Auto-boot stopped, manual boot: boot ide.1
IPL: No (with IPL yes, the installer stops at detecting network devices)

PALO Boot-Prompt: default options (see attached boot.jpeg) (boots 64bit kernel)

Installation-Wizard:
language: english (default)
location: other -> Europe -> Germany
locales: United States - en_US.UTF-8 (default)
"Load missing firmware from removable media?": No (Missing: radeon/R420_cp.bin) [no idea where to get if required]
Hostname: debian (default)
Domain name: "empty" (default)
root password: "empty" [prefer to use sudo]
user: ... as usual
Partition method: "Guided - use entire disk" (default)
Partition disks: SCSI3 (0,4,0) (sda) - 73.4GB [first disk]
Partition disks: "All files in one partition" (default)
Partition disks (confirm) layout:
  #1 primary 49.3MB
  #2 primary 249.6MB ext2 /boot
  #5 logical 56.7GB ext4 /
  #6 logical 16.4MB swap
