There's a long discussion in the parisc-linux mail archive about trying to add an extra processor to a c8000 sold with one processor module. There was an upgrade kit to update firmware. I think it was machine specific (license key). If machine is actually rp3440, then a missing cpu could be added. Both cpus have to be same type and speed. I replaced a faulty CPU on mine. Fan module on cpu can also be replaced. Dave
