Unfortunately it doesn't seem to follow the same syntax:

$ qemu-x86_64 -m 2G -drive file=$(echo debian-hurd*.img),cache=writeback
qemu: unknown option 'm'
$ qemu-x86_64 -drive file=$(echo debian-hurd*.img),cache=writeback
qemu: unknown option 'drive'
