Hello all,

I am trying to understand the development situation of GNU HURD.

There was an official release in 2025. But in reality, GNU HURD basically
only works in an emulator, and on a select group of laptops. In my opinion
a very narrow basis for an "official release".

There is no support for USB, BlueTooth or audio. In my opinion, this lack
of support basically disqualifies GNU HURD as a serious candidate for
"alternative OS", at least for desktop computers.

Is there any particular reason that there is no support for USB / Bluetooth
/ sound? Is this a hardware problem? Is it a software problem (perhaps it
is needed to implement special daemons for USB/Bluetooth/sound for HURD)?
Is is a problem of scope (there are so many USB / Bluetooth / audio
devices, and so few developers, that it is impossible to keep up)?

Is there perhaps an article somewhere on the internet with some more
background information?

Regards,
Shinichi
