Yes, upstream has been involved, but can't reproduce.

To be totally clear, I'm not expecting porters to be experts on all 
compilers :). I (with my Release Team member hat on) expect them to work 
together with maintainers to figure out where port differences may lead 
to port specific issues when consulted (and even on their own account 
when they spot issues).
