Retested last night and found it is there hiding in the top menu. I 
think I'm just used to the Ubuntu themed lightdm where it's more obvious 
where you can pick desktop. However, I couldn't get it work. I've 
installed Cinnamon, MATE and somehow Wayland is there as well. My last 
test was Cinnamon software renderer, a solid choice. Nope, all options 
booted into LXDE. Need to scrape the logs. It's not as bad as the Ubuntu 
Bionic PPC I managed to get going where I did something to break the 
desktop and it just loops around on the login screen.
