Re-opening bug #1086795

Hi Michael,

I saw your message closing this bug

like to look into the issue on powerpc. I am willing to spend some time 
debugging it.

I am going to try reproducing the issue and collecting logs. I will 
update the bug report with my findings as soon as I have something 
concrete.
