Source: openjdk-25 Severity: important Tags: upstream X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected] User: [email protected] Usertags: ppc64 Dear Maintainer, As per an upstream bug report [1], big-endian ppc64 (ABIv1) is no longer supported for OpenJDK 23+. * What led up to the situation? Attempted to sbuild the 'jpeg-xl' and 'opencv' Debian packages on an Apple G5 that required Java. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Observed 'Illegal instruction' errors in the logs when the configury was attempting to determine the Java version. * What was the outcome of this action? Package failed to build unless the 'nojava' Build-Profile was specified.
