Fix was confirmed on ppc64 (BE, not ppc64le) and is merged on upstream
master (backport PR for upstream stable/10.3 is pending.)

could be picked up for debian/patches.  Alternatively the fix will be in
next tagged stable version (10.3.1) upstream.
