I applied the proposed fix from
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gjs/-/merge_requests/998 

But it doesn't seem to have fully fixed the issue:

It's definitely too late now for gjs 1.84 to reach Trixie as we are
basically in Hard Freeze now.
