My suggestion would be to install using the netboot installer in Wheezy:

https://archive.debian.org/debian/dists/wheezy/main/installer-sparc/current/images/netboot/

Or install SUSE Linux for SPARC:

https://fsck.technology/software/SUSE%20Linux/SUSE%207.3%20SPARC/

Let me know when you want to try SUSE Linux for SPARC, I can send you the TFTP image.

You can then replace the kernel with a custom one which I can provide to you
to test the kernel patch on your Netra X1.
