Hi Christian,

This is really interesting to me. I looked up for some examples:

1. Fastcopy, a software with a quite long history, uses the square quotes. =
The developer is Japanese native. Link: https://fastcopy.jp/img/fc_sample2.=
png

2. Japanese translation of the Linux From Scratch book also uses the square=
 quotes.

Well, this is not user interface, but I guess it also suggests something.

ion.html

3. JP-Manpages also uses square quotes. Link: https://ja.manpages.org/dhcp-=
options/5

As a result, I guess the square quotes are the usual use.

However, I find it quite difficult to find user interface examples - seems =
that the quotes are not often to appear. I glanced at the user interface of=
vim(1) and the screenshots of several distros, but failed to find such exa=
mples.

Best wishes,
Huihang
