There is a link in the upper right corner of the URL in the previous email 
named:

“Generate and manage 3rd party app passwords”

Basically, it is a special password generated by Yahoo (you don’t get to 
choose what it is) that will work with one client for POP (each POP client 
needs a separate app password).  For security reasons, they do not allow you 
to use the website password for POP.
