I had a similar issue with KMail 6.6.1 (25.12.1) today.

In my case I found that when I went into the configuration dialog of the=20
SMTP transport, switched to the second tab with advanced configuration and=
=20
clicked on auto-detect configuration again, that it changed the SMTP port=20
to 587. I think it was 465 before. Then sending of the mail worked.

Not sure whether the provider changed the port =E2=80=93 I was not notified=
, so I=20
doubt it =E2=80=93 or whether KMail / Akonadi SMTP transport changed behavi=
or.

I do not know whether your issue has the same cause, but it might be worth=
=20
a try.
