If you want use virtualbox on a mixed system you'll have to jump
through a bunch of hoops involving chroot environments. This can be a
PITA to install and maintain.

Disclaimer: This was the situation at least up until a couple of years
ago when I went to a pure 64 bit system, it may have been fixed in the
interim. Still, a heads-up is in order.
