Update systemu? Chociaz kernel + programy. Nie koniecznie do stable,
mozesz uzyc backporty lub przynajmniej najnowsze aktualizacje z lenny.

PS 2.6.18 nie ma juz nawet w archiwum.
PPS CentOS/RedHat mial podobne problemy na w/w kernelu.
