Any chance that despite it's due to *un*conscious motions on your part?
E.g. the palm of your hand being near the touchpad?
IIUC there's sometimes a sensitivity setting for touchpads and touchscreens
which can be controlled by software.  Maybe that can help?
[ FWIW, I'm not super hopeful because these issues usually cause
  pointer movement rather than clicks.  ]

In any case, I'd install `libinput-tools` and look at `libinput
list-devices` for inspiration (you need to run it as superuser).
