Clearly something went wrong already when you created and wrote the
image with the Pi Imager since apparently ssh wasn't running and your
account wasn't correctly set up. Looks like the second method to enable
ssh worked but it wasn't a sufficient fix.

I don't know what to propose to fix the installation. Maybe start over
with the Pi Imager, possibly with another SD card.

I have to say I have a solid mistrust of SD cards in general and avoid
using them. I have one working Pi but it's the compute module kind with
on board eMMC for reliable if slow storage. But installing an OS on that
is a little harder.
