Problem with Diald and Ethertap

Dear Diald ppl,

Thanx for last time patches ... I done with the compiling, but now my next
problem is configuration and running it. I'd successfully use diald since
ages in kernel 2.0.x i think about 2-3 years ago, now with new kernel
2.4.19 and I don't know about tap and anything ... I try to search for
documents about it, but none can give me simple answer to my problems and
question, so here please help me out again.

when I use the script diald-start below ;

  /usr/sbin/diald /dev/ttyS0 \
  mode ppp accounting-log /var/log/diald-acc.log \
  netmask 255.255.255.0 \
  defaultroute \
  connect "/usr/sbin/chat -v -f /etc/ppp/pppscript --" \

  retry-count 2 died-retry-count 2 \
  ip-up /etc/ppp/ip-up
  #script end

there's error in /var/log/message ;

diald[197]: start tap0: SIOCADDRT: No such device

or when i just try to call /usr/sbin/diald

there's error in /var/log/message ;

diald[202]: Device tap0 is locked by pid 197
diald[202]: start sl0: SIOCADDRT: No such device

and there's error in /var/log/syslog

modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module tap1
.
.
modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module tap15

My config is just 1 file in

Can anyone tell me what's wrong? Any help or link to document is very
appreciated.
