As an addendum, I don't say all that because I dislike Gobo. I say it
because I really like Gobo a lot (and you too Liam :)). I would like to see
things become better.

Considering Ben's statement of maintaining the filesystem hierarchy
standard, I've been thinking something that others might think is Crazy.
I've been thinking a future version of Gobo (or distro like Gobo) based off
of Ubuntu.

Leveraging off the success of Ubuntu would be a very helpful thing. Why try
to keep building things from scratch when all the hardest work is done.
Just focus on taking Ubuntu, and making it an improved filesystem. If it's
possible, it would require far less work than maintaining a distro from
scratch.

It would be leveraging all the websites, community, and solutions that are
already available for Ubuntu. The number #1 distro on
www.distrowatch.comright now is Linux Mint, an Ubuntu based
distribution. Maybe the new
Gobuntu.
