I have done a second install.
startx works fine:
Just as before, the install procedure seemed OK ( not necessarily smootly )
During install, I am offered to install the bootloader in MBR or not
install bootloader.
I find this totally unacceptable.
There should be an option to install bootloader in / where the system is
installed.

Did I miss something there ? I tried twice !

The rest goes OK, although I dislike installers which remind me of the
1980s.
At the end of the install, I get told to reboot and I do so.
I expected the system to halt, which it does not, and to eject the
installDVD, which it does not.

Manual intervening is necessary to remove the disk.

Anyway, after a reboot ( bootloader installed in MBR ) I get a message
that no system is installed.,
something like : No operating system found : , despite the fact that I
have 7 OSes on my drive, which all boot perfectly in normal circumstances.

After re-installing my menu.lst to boot comp, I am unable to boot
Gobolinux....so far !
Will see later if I can dig up something useful.
