Greetings,

Speaking for myself, I do not like the complexity path that Linux took in
the recent years. Things have become very hard to manage and even more
difficult to debug. That includes software like PolicyKit, notification
daemons and systemd.

Thankfully there is no strong dependency from core applications on systemd
nowadays (that is, it is possible to have a full X11-based desktop up and
running without it). I have no personal feelings about systemd as long as
things are kept that way -- distros who like it are free to ship it, and
those who don't can move on with their alternative boot process. GoboLinux'
BootScripts are simple enough to understand and debug and, frankly, I
hardly reboot my machines nor need to quickly boot Linux-based VMs on a
daily basis -- therefore the subject has never been a concern for me.
