That is a good question. The boot process depends very much on the machine
architecture, and a few support files must exist in the GRUB directory. It
could be that some of these files are missing, or it could be that some
compilation parameter has not been provided to GRUB. It could be still the
case that some of the GRUB settings are not ideal for your installation.
Hard to tell, unfortunately.
