New install - boot, 'startx', freeze.

Hello,

I'm so happy to be here. Gobo is just what I've been looking for... at
least, I hope it is.

I installed Gobo into a virtual machine (VM). Bootstrap leaves me at a
terminal command line. From my experience with the live CD, I assume I
have to submit 'startx', so I do, I wind up looking at a dark gray
window with nothing in it except a mouse pointer at its center. The
mouse doesn't work. To close the window, I have to abort using
VirtualBox's menu (equivalent to turning the power OFF).

Any suggestions?
