I'm here but I can't advise properly, I have not installed GoboLinux since 6 months. I'm waiting for the 64 bits version. My purpose is to create a system user-friendly, with a windows-like skin and a file-extension recognition to automatically launch programs. Linux lacks of useful functions like "hide extensions" of "display different names", but it could be added after. I think file hierarchy is the main error in Linux : it has been created when people didn't really see what an OS must be, it has been created on an "alone" logic, like if the system must be used alone on the PC. I think FHD is the main reason for the persistent lack of success for Linux, the very structure is completely non-intuitive, I saw lot of newbies afraid by "/" (=> "on which HDD is / ???") or by the FHS. That's why I bet on GoboLinux, but I really need 64 bits...
