Well, I did as you recommended and I can now boot to TWM Window Manager.
I can run xterm, but nothing else will launch (and of course I am given
no clue why -- as an aside, Linux seems to have 2 modes: 1, overly
verbose but without any help, and 2, silent. Why is that?).

At this point, I really should install the VBox Guest Additions from a
CD image that is automounted by the VirtualBox hypervisor when the Guest
is launched, but I don't know how to run
'/<...some_mount_point...>/VBOXADDITIONS_4.3.26_98988/VBoxLinuxAdditions.run'.
Heck, I don't know how to find
'/<...some_mount_point...>/VBOXADDITIONS_4.3.26_98988/VBoxLinuxAdditions.run'.
Hahahahahaha...

Oh, one more thing: In the "Typical" install, I submitted 'apt-get' to
xterm's CLI and 'apt-get' is not installed. Huh?
