Nope, it has nothing to do with it (though I will love seeing the idea discussed), its just that github was made for developers sharing development files (mostly text) not large binary files, such the ISO for an OS. Scripts will continue to be hosted there, but for non-developers there isn't much value in getting access to intermediate binary blobs. Having said that, we will look into making early snapshots available as an ISO image.
