Working on a new release

Hello everyone,

This note is just to let you know that Hisham and I have been working
on a new GoboLinux release. It's been a few weeks of quiet work so
far, but things are progressing quite well. We have a base system that
appears to be functional, a fresh kernel recipe and a bunch of updates
to other fundamental recipes.

The new release will be our first to be focused on 64-bit processors
(x86-64). My plan is to provide you with some early snapshots in the
coming weeks so that you can check that it boots and installs on your
hardware. Since this is a major shift for us I am sure we will have a
few glitches here and there to fix, so we will count on your help to
identify and report problems back to us.

This is all for now. We will keep you posted on the progress.
