I am totally new to Gobo Linux. I did not even install it on my machine. Yet I like the way it is evolving, and totally adhere to the principle.

I have the same way to manage my package in home dir:

~/Programs/<name>/{src,bin,lib,...}

... and all files linked from:

~/.local/{src,bin,lib,...}

With PATH, MANPATH LDPATH... set accordingly.

So I already enjoy the principles, a package manager in 140 SLOC of shell script is possible [1]. All of this thank to your efforts maintaining and documenting it... which got me to know about it. Thank you!

My favorite distro was AlpineLinux [2] because it is very simple. but I do not use it. Not because it does not come with a GUI, a browser a term, ffmpeg, libreoffice... but because xorg crash after installing it: If GoboLinux does not come with any graphical tool, but with those available from the package manager without issue, then it is perfect!

PS: now my favorite distro is GoboLinux, then OpenBSD, then Alpine. :P
