And if a package complains about a missing header and I do a 
rocket search headerfile.h
it gives me nothing. I think that's quite bad.
Also, by putting the program and library list into the .cache file we would
essentially duplicate that information which I'd consider a bad thing, too.

Why do you think it's bad to make rocket search use the flists which can be
downloaded using rocket update?
