in my (very personal) opinion valgrind is as essential as gdb. however: if
other have a different opinion I would also be fine with moving valgrind to
the clifford repository.

wine is a tricky thing. it can also be used to run win32 command line tools
(actually that's what I'm using wine for). Some apps (such as muse) even
use it for loading plugins which have been written for windows apps in the
first place. That's why wine is imo more essential than the stuff in the
x11 repository. Also, wine can be compiled without x11 (--without-x) which
makes the x11 related part as optional as e.g. gvim in the vim package..
