I just voted against this patch for the following reason:

the patch creates has a pkg_config_linux.in file (introduced by
2005070113581404861, any reason why the file is not called
subconfig-linux.in as in existing %include rules?).

this pkg_config_linux.in is used to set config options in the kernel config
file by modifying the user-supplied custom kernel configuration (which also
implies that it does not work when the custom kernel config is not turned
on). This is so ugly, I have only to words for it: NO WAY.

Threre is a function called auto_config() in package/base/linux/linux.conf
which is running all the scripts listed in $confscripts with the kernel
configuration file as parameter. Simply append your script to the variable
in your pkg_linux_pre.conf to set this config options.

yours,

Unix is the answer, but only if you phrase the question very carefully.
