Good enough for e.g. ISO images and gem repositories, but not for e.g. SVN, 
WWW servers, imo. The latter should be on a more reliable host.

SVN repositories and file downloads could be hosted on e.g. sf.net. This would 
also have the nice side-effect of getting access to their compile farm.
