I am unsure if anybody else is interested in this, at all, but...
I know it's something one should not do, but as I had to use my system for
some other work also, so I could not afford to try a ROCK install using the
2.0.1 ISO 1mages. Therefore I tried to build ROCK on SuSE 9.1.
Other than its predecessors SuSE 9.1 allows to configure and download ROCK.
It also builds quite a few packages, before the build script stops with this
message, to be found
in:
rock-src-2.0.1/build/drock201-2.0.1-x86-athlon-xp-32-desktop/logs/build_target_7670.log

The (fine!) handbook says, that it's possible to use other systems as build
hosts for ROCK. Now, my question is:
What requirements does a build host actually to fulfil in order to allow for
a proper ROCK build? Is it anywhere documented?
Eg: What versions of software do I need? And: What software must be
installed on the build host, at all?
It's obvious that one needs to have ncurses / ncurses-devel and a C
compiler. But what else?
If I should be the only one interested in this, I suggest we drop this
thread, otherwise it might be really nice if you could add your parts of the
puzzle.
