We should do reference builds for both 2.0 and 2.1 I think. Clifford?

There are not yet 2.1 tarballs. The devel cycle just started ...

We still need to discuss how we want to branch stable tree's in the
future. I would vote to just branch the tree (branches/2.1-stable
would be the next in this case - as done in *BSD and such) and
stabilize and release it. So we would have:

trunk -> 2.0-stable -> 2.0.0
   |		    -> 2.0.1
  \./		    -> 2.0.2

trunk -> 2.1-stable -> 2.1.0
   |		    -> 2.1.1
  \./		    -> 2.1.2

trunk -> 2.2-stable -> 2.2.0
		       ...
...

Instead of the usual long development and stabilization
phases. Unfinished or unstable stuff would be removed in the
stabilization brach to have a final release within some months.

In this plan we would have development always ongoing in trunk - and
the next major release (2.1[.0]) in half a year. Which would be a
direct branch of trunk with some polishing (== broken stuff removal).
